Nestled in the majestic Ouachita Mountains, Hot Springs National Park became known as America’s First Resort for its naturally thermal waters, luxury hotels, lively nightlife, fine dining and exciting outdoors. In 1886, Cap Anson brought his Chicago White Stockings (now the Cubs) to Hot Springs for the starts of something new; spring training. As many as 250 professional baseball players, including some of the biggest legends of the game, convened here in the Spa City each spring for training and recreation.
